Do you know what the templates is? You can read about it in Novation manuals. This behavior has nothing to do with your controllers templates as such.

Read in the manual about the things you do. I guess that's what you have done when you allways hear drums. If you select a controller for your track in the plug-in header, then it will allways sound. Novation controllers and using Automap require a bit of learning. It can take some time to find out what works best for you. There are many ways to set up and do things. Your questions requiere to much to answer, You need to do some research, and then if you still have questions, then perhaps questions that's not all over the place. Informations about this is is availble in Automap User Guide.īeside that then i recommend you read and learn about S1s Control Link.Īnd your question also tell me, that you need to learn about Automap and other things. You pick your DAW and your controller and then just follow the steps.Īlso you can set up a Automap MIDI and perhaps a setup that don't use Automap at all. I have a Novation SL MKII controller, and there are guides inside the automap server. Use the Automap server to set-up Mackie HUI and Keyboard. A lot of it can be solved by reading in the manuals. Should I press the learn button teach it to see each fader? Or do I need to select one of the blank templates before I use the learn button? I was also wondring.when I start up Studio.the keyboard says basic midi. But why do I get drum sounds in non-drum tracks when I play them on the keyboard?

So I can complete the song just using the mouse. If I enter the notes into the piano roll in the problem song using my mouse, I don't get drum sounds when I shouldn't. Any idea on what I might have done to create this behavior in this one song? I then created a new song and it doesn't do this. But I still get drum sounds from the keyboard even when I have a different instrument in focus. So I finally reset my keyboard back to factory state. I figured I must have saved something some how when I was looking around. I think it played the piano sound too at the same time. I had the piano track selected and I got a drum sound when I played A2. All I touched were the drum pads and the faders.Īfter I gave up on my exploration, I noticed that when I played certain keys, that they made drum sounds even when the drum tack wasn't engaged. But I wasn't brave enough to change anything. I was trying to figure out how I set the drum pads to correspond to what the actual notes in the vst are. I did not press the learn button or anything. That's how I found out what I have described above. Yesterday, I pressed each of the drum pads. They don't seem to be changing the faders on my screen in any case. It says that 3 controls the Master, and 1 and 2 are active, but I don't see how they control anything. I also noticed that the fades don't really work either. I see if I press them, that they are set to C3 and above but the drums in Impact are set to B1, etc. If I set it to Impulse, the keyboard works.

There was a Impulse and a Impulse(midi) in the list. I set up the AutoHUI thing and added a new keyboard. I used AutoMap to set up the keyboard/controller.
